Anterior inferior cerebellar artery
Arteria inferior anterior cerebelli · Přední dolní mozečková tepna
Heart & arteries
Looks like
A branch from the lower basilar artery running sideways to the front-underside of the cerebellum, often looping near the inner ear canal.
What it does
Supplies part of the pons, the front lower cerebellum and often the inner ear.
Keeping it well
Its blockage can cause sudden deafness in one ear with vertigo and unsteadiness. A loop can press on nerves and cause facial spasms.
