Left palatine bone

Skeleton
Looks like
A small L-shaped bone at the back of the nose, forming the rear part of the hard palate and part of the side wall of the nasal cavity.
What it does
Completes the back of the roof of the mouth and floor of the nose; small nerves and vessels to the palate pass through its canals.
Keeping it well
Rarely a problem alone; involved in cleft palate and in high facial fractures. Dentists numb the palate at the openings in this bone.
