A roughly four-sided plate of cartilage forming the front of the nasal septum, wedged between the vomer, the ethmoid plate and the nasal bones.
What it does
Main support of the lower nose, holding up the bridge and tip.
Keeping it well
It is often bent (deviated septum). It also supplies graft material for nose surgery. Loss after injury or infection gives a saddle nose.
