Osseous skeleton of external nose
Skeleton osseum nasi externi · Kostěná kostra zevního nosu
Skeleton
Looks like
The bony upper part of the visible nose: the two nasal bones and the frontal processes of the maxillae around the pear-shaped opening.
What it does
Forms the rigid bridge of the nose; the softer lower nose is cartilage attached to it.
Keeping it well
Breaks easily in falls and sports. Swelling hides the shape at first, so a straightening, if needed, is usually done within 1–2 weeks.
