Lower first secondary premolar tooth
Dens premolaris primus inferior · Dolní první stálý třenový zub
Skeleton
Looks like
The permanent tooth just behind the lower canine, fourth from the middle, with one root and a small inner cusp.
What it does
Holds and tears food between the canine and the molars.
Keeping it well
Often removed for orthodontic space. The nerve to the lower lip exits the jaw near its root, so surgery here takes care.
