Posterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery

Looks like

A branch of the gastroduodenal artery running down behind the head of the pancreas near the bile duct.

What it does

Supplies the back of the pancreas head, duodenum and lower bile duct.

Keeping it well

Removed in Whipple surgery; can bleed after pancreatic operations.
