Pubococcygeus
Musculus pubococcygeus · Stydko-kostrční sval
Muscles
Looks like
A main part of the pelvic floor, running from the back of the pubic bone to the tailbone around the urethra, vagina and rectum.
What it does
Supports the pelvic organs and helps control urine and stool.
Keeping it well
Often stretched or torn in childbirth; supervised pelvic floor exercises improve leakage. Persistent incontinence deserves a referral.
