Deltoid

Looks like

A thick cap of muscle over the shoulder in three parts: front, side and back.

What it does

Lifts the arm in every direction; the middle part does the first 90 degrees.

Keeping it well

Strength work in all three directions; this is the muscle injections go into.

Its parts

• Acromial part of deltoid
• Clavicular part of deltoid
• Spinal part of deltoid
