Medial malleolus
Malleolus medialis · Vnitřní kotník
Skeleton
Looks like
The bump on the inside of the ankle — the lower end of the shin bone.
What it does
Forms the inner wall of the ankle joint and anchors the strong inner (deltoid) ligament.
Keeping it well
Breaks in twisting injuries: if you cannot take four steps, or the back edge or tip of the bone is tender, get an X-ray (Ottawa ankle rules).
