Subscapularis

Looks like

The largest cuff muscle, lying flat on the front of the shoulder blade against the ribs.

What it does

Turns the arm inwards and guards the front of the joint against dislocation.

Keeping it well

Torn in falls and dislocations; a hand that cannot be pressed flat against the belly or lifted off the back points to it.
