A sensory branch of the mandibular nerve running forward onto the outer surface of the cheek muscle.
What it does
Brings feeling from the skin and inner lining of the cheek and the outer gums of the lower back teeth.
Keeping it well
Blocked separately for extractions of lower molars. Not the nerve that moves the cheek muscle (that is the facial nerve).
