Deep anterior cervical nodes

Looks like

Nodes lying deep in the front of the neck, around the voice box, windpipe and thyroid gland.

What it does

Filter lymph from the larynx, trachea, thyroid and upper oesophagus.

Keeping it well

Removed in 'central neck dissection' when thyroid cancer has spread; ultrasound is used to check them.
