Nodes along each side of the windpipe in the neck, next to the recurrent laryngeal nerve.

What it does

Filter lymph from the thyroid, windpipe, voice box and oesophagus.

Keeping it well

Common sites of thyroid cancer spread; removing them risks the voice nerve, so surgeons take care there.
