Small folds of capsule and lining that run up along the neck of the thigh bone from the capsule's attachment toward the head.
What it does
Carry the small retinacular blood vessels that supply most of the femoral head.
Keeping it well
A displaced femoral neck fracture tears them and cuts the blood supply, so the head may die (avascular necrosis).
