Ischiofemoral ligament
Ligamentum ischiofemorale · Sedací-stehenní vaz
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
A spiral band at the back of the hip joint, from the ischium behind the socket to the top of the femoral neck.
What it does
Limits inward rotation and over-straightening of the hip.
Keeping it well
Thin compared with the front ligaments, so most hip dislocations go backward.
