A small flat ligament inside the hip joint, running from the notch of the socket to a pit on the femoral head.
What it does
Carries a small artery to the head, important in children; its holding role in adults is minor.
Keeping it well
Can tear in dislocation or wear and cause deep hip pain; seen in hip arthroscopy.
