The small motor bundle of the trigeminal nerve, running beneath the sensory ganglion to join the mandibular nerve.
What it does
Drives the chewing muscles and a few small muscles of the palate and middle ear.
Keeping it well
Damage gives weak chewing on one side and a jaw that deviates toward it on opening.
