A band at the front and lower side of the hip, from the pubic part of the socket rim to the femoral neck.
What it does
Stops the thigh swinging too far outward and over-straightening.
Keeping it well
Rarely injured alone; relevant in developmental hip dysplasia and hip surgery approaches.
