Subcutaneous trochanteric bursa
Bursa subcutanea trochanterica · Podkožní trochanterová burza
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
A sac between the skin and the bony point on the outer hip (greater trochanter).
What it does
Lets the skin glide over the bony prominence.
Keeping it well
Can swell from pressure, such as lying on that side. Outer hip pain is more often from the gluteal tendons beneath.
