A branch of the posterior cord running down the back wall of the armpit with the thoracodorsal vessels.
What it does
Moves latissimus dorsi, the broad back muscle that pulls the arm down and back.
Keeping it well
At risk in armpit lymph node surgery; surgeons use the muscle with this nerve for breast reconstruction flaps.
