Transverse part of iliofemoral ligament
Pars transversa ligamenti iliofemoralis · Příčná část kyčelně-stehenního vazu
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
The outer limb of the Y-shaped ligament at the front of the hip, running more sideways to the upper end of the intertrochanteric line.
What it does
Limits outward rotation and over-straightening of the hip.
Keeping it well
Opened or released in some hip operations; its tightness adds to stiffness in arthritis.
