A middle cerebral branch running up in the groove in front of the motor strip (prerolandic artery).
What it does
Supplies the back of the frontal lobe, including movement planning areas and, on the dominant side, speech production (Broca's area).
Keeping it well
Its blockage can cause halting, effortful speech and weakness of the opposite face and arm.
