Right scapula
Scapula dextra · Pravá lopatka
Skeleton
Looks like
The shoulder blade: a flat triangular bone on the upper back, with a ridge (spine), a shallow socket for the arm and a hook to the front.
What it does
Holds the shoulder socket, anchors 17 muscles including the rotator cuff, and glides over the ribs to widen arm reach.
Keeping it well
It breaks rarely and only with big force. Shoulder pain on lifting the arm is usually rotator cuff trouble; lasting weakness needs a check.
