The largest coeliac branch, winding tortuously along the top of the pancreas to the spleen.

What it does

Supplies the spleen, pancreas body and tail, and part of the stomach.

Keeping it well

The most common abdominal site of aneurysms after the aorta; risky in pregnancy, so large ones are treated.
