Right middle cerebral artery
Arteria cerebri media dextra · Pravá střední mozková tepna
Heart & arteries
Looks like
The largest branch of the internal carotid, running sideways in the deep groove between the frontal and temporal lobes and fanning over the brain's side.
What it does
Supplies most of the outer brain surface: movement and feeling of face and arm, speech (usually left side) and hearing areas.
Keeping it well
The most common site of stroke. Face and arm weakness, lost speech or neglect of one side: call an ambulance, clot treatment is time-critical.
