Heart & arteries
Looks like
A thin artery leaving the internal carotid just before its end and running back along the optic tract to the fluid spaces of the brain.
What it does
Supplies the choroid plexus of the lateral ventricle, the optic tract, part of the internal capsule and deep parts of the temporal lobe.
Keeping it well
Its stroke gives weakness, numbness and loss of half the visual field on the opposite side. It is protected carefully in aneurysm surgery.
