Lateral thyrohyoid ligament

Looks like

A rounded cord at the back edge of the membrane between the hyoid bone and the thyroid cartilage.

What it does

Links the hyoid to the upper horns of the thyroid cartilage.

Keeping it well

Often contains a tiny cartilage nodule (cartilago triticea) that can mimic a swallowed bone or a calcified artery on X-ray.
