Ligamentum stylohyoideum · Bodcojazylkový vaz
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
A thin cord from the tip of the styloid process under the ear to the small horn of the hyoid bone.
What it does
Helps suspend the hyoid bone and so the tongue and larynx.
Keeping it well
It can calcify (Eagle syndrome), causing throat or neck pain on swallowing or turning; CT confirms it.
