Superficial palmar arterial arch
Arcus palmaris superficialis · Povrchový dlaňový tepenný oblouk
Heart & arteries
Looks like
An arch of artery just under the palm's tough fascia, roughly level with the outstretched thumb's web, mostly from the ulnar artery.
What it does
Sends the common digital arteries to the fingers, the main blood supply of the fingers.
Keeping it well
Deep palm cuts can divide it and bleed heavily: press firmly and get to an emergency department.
