Skeleton
Looks like
A finger-like hook of the shoulder blade that points forward, felt just below the outer third of the collarbone.
What it does
Anchors the short head of the biceps, the coracobrachialis and pectoralis minor, and the ligaments that hold the collarbone down.
Keeping it well
A landmark for shoulder injections and surgery; it rarely breaks on its own. Pain here when lifting the arm is often a tight pectoralis minor.
