Lobar & segmental bronchi
Bronchi lobares et segmentales · Lalokové a segmentové průdušky
Respiratory system
Looks like
The branching airways inside each lung: one for each lobe, then about ten per lung to its segments, still ringed with cartilage.
What it does
Distribute air to each lobe and segment of the lung.
Keeping it well
Most lung cancers start in these larger airways; coughing blood, a cough that changes or lasts over three weeks, or weight loss in a smoker or ex-smoker needs a chest scan.
