Articular disc of distal radio-ulnar joint
Discus articularis articulationis radioulnaris distalis · Kloubní disk distálního radioulnárního kloubu
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
A triangular pad of fibrocartilage on the little-finger side of the wrist, between the end of the ulna and the wrist bones (the TFCC's core).
What it does
Binds the lower radius and ulna together, lets the forearm turn and cushions the ulnar side of the wrist.
Keeping it well
Torn by falls or twisting, or worn with age: pain and clicking on the little-finger side of the wrist. MRI or arthroscopy confirms it.
