Interpubic disc
Discus interpubicus · Mezistydká ploténka
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
The pad of fibrocartilage between the two pubic bones, often with a small slit-like cavity in its centre.
What it does
Cushions and binds the pubic bones, letting the pelvis give slightly under load.
Keeping it well
Softened by pregnancy hormones; strain or degeneration can cause pain over the front of the pelvis.
