A large fluid sac between the deltoid muscle and the top of the arm bone, usually continuous with the subacromial bursa.
What it does
Lets the deltoid slide over the rotator cuff and the arm bone.
Keeping it well
Inflamed together with the subacromial bursa, causing outer shoulder pain; seen well on ultrasound.
