Left medial rectus
Musculus rectus medialis sinister · Levý vnitřní přímý sval oka
Muscles
Looks like
The strongest eye-moving muscle, running along the inner side of the orbit to the inner front of the eyeball.
What it does
Turns the eye inward, toward the nose, and brings both eyes together to focus on near objects.
Keeping it well
Powered by the oculomotor nerve. Squint and trouble focusing up close can be helped by exercises or surgery; sudden double vision is urgent.
