Thoracic vertebral column
Columna vertebralis thoracica · Hrudní páteř
Skeleton
Looks like
The chest part of the spine: 12 vertebrae (T1–T12) curving gently backward, each carrying a pair of ribs.
What it does
Supports the trunk and protects the spinal cord; the ribs make it the stiffest part of the spine.
Keeping it well
An excessive hunch (kyphosis) or side curve (scoliosis) shows here; progressing curves in teenagers need follow-up.

- Intervertebral disk of first thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of second thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of third thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of fourth thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of fifth thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of sixth thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of seventh thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of eighth thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of ninth thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of tenth thoracic vertebra
- Intervertebral disk of eleventh thoracic vertebra
