Testicular arteries
Arteriae testiculares · Varlatové tepny
Heart & arteries · male only
Looks like
A long, thin artery on each side, leaving the aorta just below the kidneys' arteries and running down the back wall and through the groin into the scrotum.
What it does
Supplies the testis and epididymis.
Keeping it well
Twisting of the cord (torsion) or injury in hernia and vasectomy surgery can cut it off; sudden testicular pain needs same-day emergency care.
