Vessels of the testis
Vasa testicularia · Cévy varlete
Heart & arteries · male only
Looks like
The artery and veins of each testis, running with the vas deferens in the spermatic cord from the back of the abdomen into the scrotum.
What it does
Bring blood to the testis and carry it back, cooling the arterial blood on the way down.
Keeping it well
A sudden, severe pain in one testis is torsion until proven otherwise: the cord has twisted and cut off this supply, and surgery within hours saves the testis.
