Trochlea of superior oblique muscle
Trochlea musculi obliqui superioris · Kladka horního šikmého svalu oka
Muscles
Looks like
A tiny ring-shaped pulley of fibrous cartilage fixed to the bone at the upper inner corner of the eye socket.
What it does
Redirects the tendon of the superior oblique muscle so it can pull the eye down and in.
Keeping it well
Inflammation here (trochleitis) causes aching at the inner brow worse on looking up; it responds well to treatment by a doctor.
