A thin curved band of fibres in the groove between the thalamus and caudate nucleus, in the lateral ventricle wall.
What it does
Carries signals from the amygdala to the hypothalamus; involved in fear, stress and anxiety responses.
Keeping it well
Not examined clinically on its own; it is a landmark for surgeons working inside the ventricles.
