Nasal septum
Septum nasi · Nosní přepážka
Respiratory system
Looks like
A thin midline wall of cartilage in front and bone behind, dividing the nose in two.
What it does
Separates the nasal passages and supports the nose's shape.
Keeping it well
Often slightly bent, usually harmlessly; nosebleeds start at its front, stopped by pinching the soft nose for 10–15 minutes leaning forward.
