Check ligament of lateral rectus
Lacertus musculi recti lateralis · Brzdicí vaz zevního přímého svalu oka
Joints & cartilage
Looks like
A triangular strip of connective tissue from the sheath of the outer eye muscle to the bone at the outer edge of the eye socket.
What it does
Limits how far the muscle can pull, softening and stopping outward eye movement.
Keeping it well
Rarely a problem by itself; it matters to squint surgeons who free or respect it when repositioning the muscle.
