Left middle frontal gyrus
Gyrus frontalis medius sinister · Levý střední čelní závit
Nervous system
Looks like
The middle of three horizontal ridges on the side of the frontal lobe, above the inferior frontal gyrus.
What it does
Supports working memory, attention and control of eye movements toward a target (frontal eye field at its back end).
Keeping it well
A stroke here can make the eyes turn toward the damaged side. It is a common landmark for surgeons planning brain operations.
