Coronary sinus
Sinus coronarius · Věnčitý splav
Veins
Looks like
A wide vein lying in the groove on the back of the heart between the left atrium and ventricle, emptying into the right atrium.
What it does
Collects most of the used blood from the heart muscle itself.
Keeping it well
Nothing to care for directly; cardiologists thread pacing leads through it to the left ventricle in resynchronisation therapy for heart failure.
