Fourth ventricle
Ventriculus quartus · Čtvrtá komora
Nervous system
Looks like
A tent-shaped fluid cavity between the brainstem in front and the cerebellum behind.
What it does
Lets cerebrospinal fluid out into the space around the brain and spinal cord.
Keeping it well
Tumours of the cerebellum in children often block it; morning headache and vomiting in a child need prompt assessment.
