Occipital lobe
Lobus occipitalis · Týlní lalok
Nervous system
Looks like
The rearmost part of each cerebral hemisphere, above the cerebellum at the back of the head.
What it does
The brain's visual centre, processing everything the eyes send.
Keeping it well
Stroke here causes sudden loss of half the field of vision in both eyes — an emergency even without other symptoms.
