A narrow slit-like fluid cavity in the midline between the two halves of the thalamus.
What it does
Passes cerebrospinal fluid from the lateral ventricles down to the aqueduct.
Keeping it well
A cyst in its roof can suddenly block fluid flow; a sudden severe headache with collapse needs emergency care.
