Middle lobe of lung
Lobus medius pulmonis dextri · Střední plicní lalok
Veins
Looks like
The smallest lobe of the right lung, a wedge at the front between the upper and lower lobes, touching the heart.
What it does
Takes part in gas exchange with its two segments, lateral and medial.
Keeping it well
Its narrow bronchus blocks easily, giving repeated pneumonias (middle lobe syndrome). Recurring infection in one place needs a scan.
