Trunk of anterior interventricular branch of left coronary artery
Truncus rami interventricularis anterioris · Kmen přední mezikomorové větve
Heart & arteries
Looks like
The main stem of the left anterior descending artery, running down the groove on the front of the heart to its tip.
What it does
Supplies the front wall of the left ventricle, the front two-thirds of the septum and the apex — the largest share of heart muscle.
Keeping it well
A blockage near its start causes a large heart attack. Chest pressure over 15 minutes, sweating or breathlessness: call an ambulance.
