Outflow part of left ventricle
Pars efferens ventriculi sinistri · Výtoková část levé komory
Heart & arteries
Looks like
The smooth-walled funnel of a ventricle leading up to its exit valve — to the aorta on the left, to the lung artery on the right.
What it does
Guides blood out of the pumping chamber into the great artery.
Keeping it well
Thickened muscle can narrow it (e.g. in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy); fainting or breathlessness on exertion needs a heart ultrasound.
